UK University Clearing Information

"University Clearing" is the process where students who have not been able to obtain a Higher Education place at a UK University or College can search for vacant places on courses at all the UK institutions. The process is known as Clearing. Don't panic the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) found more than 60,000 students places last year.

When Does Clearing Start?

• A levels -Clearing is closed for 2006
• Scottish Highers - Clearing is closed for 2006
• Other qualifications and no offers - Clearing is closed for 2006

When Does Clearing Finish?

• Clearing finishes when all the places have been filled, before the start of the Autumn term.
